BIOGRAPHY

 

British -Filipino pianist Myenard Martillano was born in London and is currently studying for her undergraduate degree under the tutelage of Philip Martin and David Quigley. She has performed both as a soloist and as a chamber musician at Symphony Hall in Birmingham and in the Schott Music shop in London where she has performed a selection of Ligeti Etudes. She has also played in a Schott Music Showcase held in Bangor where she played Steal Away, an arrangement on piano by John Kember.

 

Myenard was awarded the DipABRSM in performance and in 2012, she won second prize in the Ealing Music Festival Open Concerto Class for her performance of Beethoven's second piano concerto and was also a finalist in the 2015 Peter Donohoe Piano Prize and Beethoven Sonata Prize in Birmingham. Myenard has attended many international summer schools where she taken part in several masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Leslie Howard and Steinway artist, David Fung.

 

Myenard's repertoire is diverse and she particularly enjoys performing Romantic and 20th century French works.  Recent engagements include solo recitals at Great Malvern Memorial Place sponsored by Kawaii, St. Martin’s at the Bullring and Birmingham Conservatoire.
